Hector Jurado enjoyed tutoring children when he was a freshman in High school and since then a desire to teach was born in his heart. Nidia Jurado since she was 5 years old pretended to teach her dolls the alphabet and told her parents that when she grow up she wanted to be a teacher. When Hector and Nidia first met the fist thing they shared and noticed they had in common was the desire to teach.
Then Hector and Nidia worked with children since they were dating back in 1992. After getting married in 1997 they continue working with children. In 2003 after going to college for a child development degree and seeing the need for quality child care in their neighborhood they opened up Happy Day Care in their home.
6 Years later in 2009 they built a new facility and opened up their second location to provide their services to more families. This time Happy Preschool serving children 2-5 years of age where families would become a community.
Today many of the first children who attended their day care 14 years ago are enrolled in 4 year universities and many with full scholarships. These children now adults come visit Hector and Nidia and still remember those days when they were beginning to write their names and can remember having fun playing with their friends. It is those coming back with successful stories that keeps Hector and Nidia serving more and more families at Happy Day Care and Happy Preschool.
